Ravyn was on his way to see his parents. He was given some days off, so
with the lack of doing something interesting he decided to do a little trip
to his hometown. Besides his parents there weren't many people he was
going to meet, some neighbors and a few old friends, but that wasn't really a
problem since he would most likely have enough stuff to do and talk with his
parents.
He wouldn't have much time to spend there though, since it took time to get
there and back. Good thing was that he was able to take the most straight
way there in his bird-form. It took so much less time to fly there than walk,
and he could practice his flying skills at the same time. Ravyn couldn't
bring anything with him in this form though, even if he wanted to take some
of his work for his parents to see. Well, maybe next time.
Despite all the good sides of flying home, today was clearly not his day.
It was raining, and it was raining hard. The redhead didn't usually have
anything against rain, but that was when he was in his human form. As
a bird the water stuck to his weathers and made the flying harder. It also
made the navigating harder, so he wasn't sure if his direction was even right.
'I just gotta trust my instincts' the bird though uncertainly and continued to
fly against the pouring rain. The water splashing onto him was kind of cold,
even though he was in his bird-form when it was relatively warmer than
being human.
Like the hard rain wasn't enough, there was a sudden crash and burst of light.
The lighting scared the crap out of Ravyn, making him almost loose his
balance. 'Sonofa-! Thunderstorm!' The bird let out a sharp caw, quickly lowering
his height, not wanting to be hit by the lighting. After he got himself together
the bird got even lower, disappearing into the treetops.
'Might as well wait for the storm to cease. Too dangerous and unpleasant
to fly in this weather!' Ravyn fumed to himself, pecking angrily at the tree
he had landed. This would take a lot of his time, and he would have to
stay in his bird-form for now too. The raven hopped off the three onto the
ground, moving under the three that had less water pouring under it. It
was pretty damp there and he started to flutter most of the water off.
