Alevale was a pleasant place. Things seemed so peaceful on the surface, little cottages here and there, little villages scattered around. He hadn't run into any of the cities yet, but he would. He was on his way to the castle after all. A single potent dart, would be what he used to finish of the King, the Queen or their heir... but those were thoughts for another time. Glancing at the trees surrounding him, he felt for a moment that they were anxious, that him being there scared them. Granted he couldn't blame them, or his own sub-conscience for wondering what would happen once he finished his deed. It was horrible, he was horrible, doing to this kingdom what had been done to his own. But Kyrin wasn't a prince anymore, wasn't a royal, only a single person from far far away.
Twirling a finger in his hair, he sighed, wondering just when this place was going to end. He had traveled for most of his life, but he still preferred staying in an inn to camping out everywhere he went. Sleeping on the ground didn't bother him from time to time, but he hadn't had a proper place to gather himself since cutting through Drakon to get here. Grey eyes wandered to what seemed to be a cottage, and with crossed arms he wondered whether the place was abandoned. It would be just his luck if it was... and if it wasn't? Well, he could leave. Or he could kill the person and stay there anyways. But murder for a room he would stay in for only a night seemed a bit ridiculous, even to the morally stale young man.
That didn't mean, that he wouldn't break in opposed to knock.
Sliding down the hill, he stared inside a moment before jumping the little fence and inspecting the back door. Eyes drifted over the back yard, and it seemed that this place was a bit too clean to be abandoned. Damn, he'd have to keep moving wouldn't he. 'Che.' It would be easier to just kill whoever lived here. They wouldn't be found anyways, he was so deep in this god damned forest it was hard not to get lo- oh no.
The world was shrinking.
It was a realization that came with a flash, some sparkles and seeing the doornob at eye level. Why tonight? Why did he have to turn into this god damned bird tonight? The swan flapped his wings before honking in a bout of anger... before waddling toward the front of the house to leave. Damned curse, damn it to hell.

❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ ❉ The sound of birds chirping outside of his window was more than music. It was like a perfect melody planned out by nature. Tanny smiled, opening the windows wider and whistling happily with them, making a tune.
Occasionally he was able to hold out his hands and let them fly onto his fingers, but they seemed more interested in the tune. Once his "friends" had flown away, he closed the window, sighing deeply. A piece of him was tempted to leave for a walk but if the sun went down before he got home, he'd be terrified of everything. Especially the trees in the dark, they were especially frightening. He could easily remember the stories he was told about the trees grabbing you.
Tanny stared out the window to determine the time, when his eyes lightened a bit. He had no idea that there were wild goose or anything like that around where he lived. Especially out around now? Maybe it was lost, or was a magical goose that was going to give him a golden egg! Either way, it was precious.
He giggled a bit, seeing it waddle and honk. He quickly went towards it and got on his knees to talk to the bird, maybe make a friend and stuff it with bread later on.
"Now ducky, why are you so angry?" Tanny asked it, basically expecting an intelligent yet high pitched voice to erupt from the animal.

If a swan could bristle in aggravation he definitely would be doing so right now. The bird was relatively small compared to most swans, but he was definitely an adult. No soft down feathers of a duckling clung to his form. The water fowl stared blankly at the person that was standing in the way of his narrow escape, bright blue eyes cut into a semi-glare. Did this idiot just talk to birds as if he could understand them? Although, there was the probability that he truly could understand them. It wasn't a rare form of magic in Alevale if he was collecting his information correctly.
Beak quivered, and the stranger was just a single impulse away from having his nose snapped at. The urge was fought though, because Kyran didn't understand just how someone so strange and seemingly moronic, could live out here alone and survive. He surely couldn't hunt, couldn't fight... but maybe he owned a garden or something? Wings flapped twice in a slightly more elegant fashion as he ignored the question from the boy and wandered around the cottage. He would be stuck in this form all night; he wouldn't get anywhere this way. No point in trying to travel anymore... so thoughts of staying here weren't so bad anymore.
The bird's long neck turned toward the black haired boy, before he motioned his head toward the door and turned his head to the side in question. Perhaps there was room for one more here? As long as he slipped away before morning, this stranger would never know that he was sharing his home with a human being, potential thief and assassin.
