Ravyn was in charge of the jewelry store today, since the owner had some business to take care of in Lightedge city or something. The whole day has been filled with his now two tasks, serving customers and making new jewels. It was rather odd, since he was used to only doing the latter. Some of the customers seemed to be shocked too, asking where their oh-so-manly and experienced middle-aged owner was. Half of Ravyn's time has gone explaining them that this was only temporary and there was no reason to panic. What's up with this city's women anyway?? The redhead knew that this place was known for it's gossips but still! After the customers got some satisfying answer to the owner's absence they attacked Ravyn instead, asking where he came from, who he was, why he was here, did he have a girlfriend and all that stuff. He was kinda happy that he got people to talk with, but too many middle-aged women asking too many questions is always scary. The boy tried to answer them all the best he could, trying not to spread any unnecessary rumors around. Sure he have been working here for a good time already, but he was usually working at the backroom or in the corner, away from the customers eyes.
At the moment he was sitting behind the counter, crafting this one necklace that still wasn't finished. It was supposed to be ready this morning, but the customers had been keeping him busy. The flood of customers (and curious women) had ceased already, since it was evening. Ravyn was humming to himself and thinking if he should already go to home too. The business wasn't really great in the evenings, but the shifter really wanted to finish the necklace before leaving. Yesterday he still had some plans for tonight but it seemed like he wouldn't be able to carry out them today. Ravyn had been planning to go and fly around the town in his raven form, checking out some interesting places. People rarely paid close attention to ravens sneaking around than human, so it would be easy. Sure there was some disadvantages like bigger animals but he was mostly used to them already.

Wasn't this city just the place for an established thief not to go? A city full of chatty gossips. Nothing was anyone's business alone, everyone needed to be nosy and flap their gums. It was horrid, for anyone that was considered a criminal in even the most remote of ways... because even those that weren't law breakers were sometimes accused of being such. Lukas Kyran Swan knew that he should have taken a path around this gossip pool, but there was something here that had successfully taken his interest. It wasn't famous, but the product that came from the shop was worth a good price. Easily, the silver tongued ex-prince could pass it for something a little more... reknown. The jewelry shop in Windedge city, he could see how easily he could take a few priceless items from this place before getting closer to the palace practically gleaming in the distance.
But first, he needed to know just who owned the place and what sort of air it had. If security was high, he would skip it; he was too close to Vaminere palace to get caught for something so trivial. However, to Lukas's surprise, he had shown up on the perfect day. All it took was a good ear to know that the shop keeper was gone, leaving only a single, red headed, teenage boy to watch over the place. Gossip seemed to go both ways, he knew all of this without even stepping into the store itself.
Black boots were soundless as he stepped into the shop. Directly after another costumer, only if one was watching the entrance would you have noticed the young man was there at all. Blue eyes gazed over the various displays and cases, things here were made quite nicely. Definitely worth a good sum of gold, although a closer look would make the choice of what would go missing later tonight a bit easier. Blue eyes glanced over the shop before landing on the red head he had gotten a smidgen of information about before hand. The boy seemed to be working rather diligently, on what seemed to be a necklace. "Your rather young to be a goldsmith." He purred, a medium pitched voice in a tone almost too calm to be normal.
But his expression was somewhat friendly; a smile not wide nor deep, but just barely there. It was usually against his code of conduct to start a conversation, but he wanted to know a bit about this store, the jewelry, and the stand in shop keeper that could possibly get in his way as the day went on.

The young shifter's attention was drawn away from his unfinished work as someone spoke, someone male no less. Well that was rare, since Ravyn was already used to hearing women giggling and talking like no tomorrow. What also surprised him was that this silver haired stranger walked in without Ravyn noticing him. Maybe he was just too caught up in his work to notice the coming and going of customers, or some people could actually walk and move without others noticing them, unlike the redhead himself. Sure the boy was pretty small, but he just wasn't so graceful when moving. Plus he had a blazing red hair.
"Been practicing since I was little" The boy answered, grinning all the way. He wasn't nearly as good as the store's owner or his mother, but considering his age the redhead though pretty highly of himself. He got a so-so paying job in a jewelry store and was even assigned to watch over the place, so he couldn't be that bad, right?
"My mother is one so I learned from her" Ravyn added, going back to his work so this strange man could look around if he wished. What was he looking from here anyway? Sure Ravyn shouldn't question any customer's reason to be here since money was money and men did wear jewelry too and they might be buying something for their girlfriends for all he knew. Still, it always was kind of weird when someone 'not your average jewel user' came in. The redhead just wished it wasn't something to do with the owner since he wasn't here at the moment. Ravyn didn't like sending people off empty handed because he couldn't serve them like his boss.
The necklace's carvings were starting to form little by little while Ravyn worked on it, but the boy wasn't all too happy about it. It was little too ragged, when it was supposed to be smooth. This irked the shifter, even though he could always polish the surface a little later on.

And wasn't that quite the grin. He was proud of his work, although the way he was treating his latest piece he was more picky than he let on. Lukas fought down the smirk, hating how some people and their moods were so very contagious; and nodded, showing the red head that he was paying attention to him. Eyes were surprisingly less sharp as he watched the boy talk a bit about where he learned his craft. From the sound of things, this was a family owned business. Which made sense, why else would a boy be trusted to watch a somewhat renowned and surprisingly refined little jewelry shop by himself? There were bad people out there; people like Lukas here, that didn't care about others unless they were getting something out of it themselves.
"She taught you well." He said somewhat slowly, slender yet all too calloused fingers, tracing over one of the pieces on display. "Some of these pieces are truly dazzling." And for a moment he was jealous, never did he get the chance to learn to craft anything spectacular. His talents were grown from nothing while he was on his own, and they weren't... something that he could truly brag about either. No matter how proud of his slimy deeds he could be at times. "Is she around, might I ask?" He asked, a small pout on his lips as he pretended to look curious. But before the other could answer the door swung open, a bulky looking guy wandering in. He... was looking for something, and immediately the thief was on edge. It wasn't his fault that the little shops in Applefield were so easy to steal from on the way here. Long since had he pawned that junk off... but it seemed he had caught the attention of a bounty hunter or two. Lovely.
Still, there wasn't any reason for him to be too on edge. Not... yet. Paranoia, was one of the downfalls of living life as a criminal. No one could be trusted.

Not all of the stuff here was made by Ravyn, but some of them were, so hearing this strange man flatter the jewelries around was pretty nice. Sure it wasn't extremely rare to hear some compliments about the jewel selection, but he still wasn't too used to it. And usually the people who did that were those middle aged ladies. "Thanks" Ravyn thanked and watched as the other looked through the jewelry. He should probably pick up his pace and finish the necklace, since he would have other stuff to do tomorrow. No point in welling up with one little necklace for too long. Maybe he would have some additional time and substances to make something for himself or for his parents.
Ravyn was about to answer the other male's next question about her mother, but the shop's door opened again revealing another person walking in. This time it was a sturdy person who looked pretty out of the place with all the jewelry around the store. The young redhead just hoped this wouldn't bring any trouble. Sure he was always kind of prepared for trouble when working here, but still. "Can I help you?" Ravyn asked the man that walked into the store with confident footsteps. What was with today? First the store had been full of gossiping ladies, then there was few noisy kids, now there was this pale-haired good-looking stranger and now a bulky dude. Was it always like this or was it just a coincidence?
"Is the owner here?" The new 'customer' stated his business. Ah, always with the owner wasn't it? Was he always this popular or was it coincidence too? Hopefully this guy didn't have anything extremely serious business, or he could say it to the owner's substitute. "Nope, he has some business elsewhere today" The shifter answered him, smiling apologetically. The man grunted a little for an answer, seemingly thinking and maybe even looking for something.
Ravyn decided to let this guy take his time with whatever his business was and turned towards the other who's question was yet to be answered. "My mother lives in a small town not far from here and- oh! I forgot to ask if you have some- thing specific in mind or if you're just looking?" The redhead said quickly and scratched the back of his neck sheepishly. His shopkeeper etiquette wasn't really strict and the owner himself usually just joked around, but the boy still wanted to have at least some 'rules' to keep himself focused on what he was actually doing. He wasn't really experienced in selling things.
